Our Story
Julianah Ahmadu, who people call Iya Ghana, noticed unhappy hosts at Nigerian festivities despite their high spending. To address this, she launched Akwaaba Catering Services in 2015. Her journey began with her cooking for free for friends and churches, drawing on her experience from Ghana.
As her popularity grew, she started to charge a small fee to support the young helpers in her kitchen and to buy new equipment. Now, her focus is on creating jobs for the youth. The word "Akwaaba" means "welcome" in Ghanaian, capturing the essence of her business's motto: "You are always welcome to the feast."
